APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
CLEAN SWEEP® WINDSHIELD CLEARING FIELD SYSTEMS™
Regardless
of how the wipers operate, Clean Sweep Strips are always applied in the
path of the wipers, usually about one inch (25 mm) from the wipers in
their lowest or farthest operating position to provide for contraction
and expansion of wiper stroke length due to wiper speed selection or windshield
wetness.
Although
an outdoor air temperature of about 75º F (24º C) with low humidity, in
a wind and dust free environment is ideal, applications can be made when
glass temperatures are as low as 50º F(10º C). To warm the windshield,
turn the vehicle toward the sun, or use a heat gun or hair dryer in addition
to turning on the defrost system.
The areas
for application must be clean, dry and free of contamination. To remove
wax or rain repellant coatings, Clean Sweep recommends using a white powder
cleanser such as Bon Ami® and rinsing until water wets out or sheets (instead
of beading) then drying thoroughly before applying Clean Sweep Strips.
Clean Sweep
Strips should be sized to the wiper before removing the white release
liner to expose the pressure sensitive adhesive elements, then applied
immediately to the windshield as described above.
With fingertips
(or a hard plastic squeegee), rub over the clearing field under the green
tape to initiate bonding. This produces a tell tale outline of the entire
clearing field for inspection before peeling back (instead of lifting)
to remove the green tape and complete the creation of the windshield clearing
field.
Although
intrinsically durable to last indefinitely, Clean Sweep can be removed
without a trace at any time by using a suitable scraper and isopropyl
(rubbing) alcohol to wipe away any residual adhesive.
Thirty meter
rolls (100 feet) of Continuous Clean Sweep Strips are the lineal equivalent
of windshield wiper clearing fields for 30 vehicles, each with two 20
inch (50 cm) wipers. Packaged pairs of Clean Sweep Strips contain two
20 inch (50 cm) strips.
Clean
Sweep Strips are made in the USA in accordance with ISO9002 certification.
